It's a Fuel's Paradise

We learn this week that the petrol crisis is a global one, with fuel tanker strikes and pump protests occurring throughout the world. Thankfully the situation in this country has not escalated to the levels of places like Spain, Thailand and Malaysia. Security has had to be increased in Madrid after an arson attack on a strike breaking trucker left the driver with 75% burns, while in Malaysia up to 2000 extra security staff have been drafted in to stop a public march against rising fuel prices.

Closer to home, the fuel crisis has sparked more thefts of of petrol and diesel and even, as we are informed by Gardien this week, a spate of thefts of catalytic converters from cars parked outside peoples homes.

On a more positive note we report this week on more award winning companies. Dedicated Micros HighVu Excel system has won the Product Innovation of the Year 2008 category in the PSI Premier Awards, while Paxton Access has won the PSI Premier Award for Access Control Manufacturer of the Year 2008. Congratulations to both.

'Cats' at Risk in Gardens
That's the message this week from Gardien, the online garden security company.
