New
Gates for Primary School
IC2 CCTV Security Specialists has installed new access control and automation
to entrance gates at Bucklands Primary School in Surrey.
The
old gates were padlocked at night and weekends and had to be left open
during school days, allowing access to any pedestrians or vehicle drivers
to enter the school grounds. With a nursery on site and plans to open
a children's centre in the near future, the school decided it was time
to control access and improve security.
After a thorough assessment of the schools' needs, IC2 recommended FAAC
automation arms for both the pedestrian and vehicle gates. They are time
controlled and can be set to open at bulk entry and exit times. Reception
can override the pre-programmed opening times should the need arise, for
example for open days, fetes or parents evenings.
Electronic locking from Adams Rite provides maximum security with egress
being facilitated via an exit loop for the vehicle gate and egress button
for the pedestrian gate. These are controlled via time profiles to help
prevent the controls being operated out of hours.
Authorised users can gain access through both gates using a Paxton key
fob system. Visitors can communicate with the school via an intercom and
activity at the gate is constantly monitored by a high resolution Samsung
CCTV camera and Videoswitch digital recording. All of the equipment has
a high level of vandal resistance built-in.
Headteacher - Karima Mould is delighted with the new system. She says:
Because we couldn't see the school gates from our offices, we really
had no way of monitoring or controlling who came into the school. Now
we can check and record who is entering and leaving at all times. I found
IC2 to be very knowledgeable throughout the whole process and we are very
grateful to SCC for the companys contribution to the security and
safety of our children.
